Spring is upon us. Whilst we get ready for our usual spring clean, it's also the ideal time to look at updating your decor. Here are the big furniture colour trends for Spring 2023 and some ideas on how to incorporate them into your home.
Moving on from the minimalist and more industrial influence in recent years, this year colour is making a comeback. Colour and paint expert, Annie Sloane, says there are two 'families' of strong colours this season. “These are empowering, strong brights and reassuring, earthy folk favourites."
Bright and powerful
Pantone's colour of the year is Viva Magenta. They describe it as, "an animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint." In line with the unrestrained self expression theme, reds, pinks and purples are some of the biggest colours this season. If you're the type to usually play it safe, it can be scary to envision using such strong colours in your home decor. But there are many ways to incorporate a bright colour without overwhelming a room. Using brightly coloured cushions is an easy way to lift the aesthetic, using a complementary shade to other colours in the room. If you want to be brave, an accent wall can transform your living room into feeling like a totally new space.
A classic way to use strong colours in your home is by using statement pieces. Some of our favourite colours at Willow and Hall fit in perfectly with this trend.
A brightly coloured sofa will stand out and be a great centrepiece in your living room.
Or, use a smaller item of furniture such as an armchair to add a touch of luxury.
Playful pastels
Another of the colour trends for Spring 2023 is pastel. You may find pastels easier and safer to incorporate, especially if you lean towards more neutral decor. Colours such as light pink, baby blue, soft yellow, and mint green are great options to bring a soft and delicate touch to your interior.
Pastels work beautifully in a bedroom, lending to a feeling of peace and calm.
Or, choose a soft pastel for your sofa, ensuring a neutrality that will work with different decors over the years.
Earth Tones
Think natural and organic. Beiges, browns, greens and terracotta are the main colours of this trend. They work well with neutral colours, such as white and grey to create a sophisticated look that is easy on the eye, and the mind.
A soft green will work well with most wooden furnishings and floorings.
As seen here, a combination of greens, beiges and greys is a great way to update your living room, for a very 2023 modern feel.
